David Mullican, Architect
Biography
- David Mullican studied at the University of Kentucky, College of Architecture where he received a five year Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1980. In the summer of 1979 David received a scholarship to attend The Preservation Institute of Nantucket a program through the University of Florida. During the summer of 1980 David studied architecture in Europe touring Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain, and Austria. Besides travelling extensively in North America, his interest in architecture has also taken him to Mexico, Canada, China, Japan and parts of the former USSR.
- In 1989-90, while maintaining his practice, David returned to college for his master degree from the University of Houston. During the master program special emphasis was placed on experimental architecture in harsh environments. David taught Architectural Drafting at Wharton College in Wharton TX for one year.
- In private practice since 1985, David has worked on a wide range of projects including restaurants and retail spaces but prefers designing individual homes. He has also worked on historic restorations/remodels of residential and commercial structures. The primary focus continues to be custom beach homes.
